Argentine international and Barcelona captain Lionel Messi wants the club to buy four big players before making a new deal with him.

Lionel Messi is currently very important for Barcelona because of his goals. He is La Liga Santander’s top scorer with 13 goals and has contributed a number of assists for his team-mates. The Catalans are now interested in binding Messi to a new contract.

Messi’s father, Jorge, is reported to have held talks with the Barca council and in particular club president Josep Maria Bartomeu. It looks like all the terms and conditions regarding finances have been agreed upon, but Diario GOL claims that Lionel Messi will only officially sign a new contract if Barca meets his demands to recruit four players he likes and is right for the team.

It is known at this time, Samuel Umtiti will almost certainly leave Camp Nou in one of the next two transfer windows. While Gerard Pique also suggested that the club needs to start finding younger center backs. Messi wants the club to go after Milan defender Skriniar (Inter) or Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), who are both very interested in other clubs.

In addition, Lionel Messi is somewhat unhappy with the right-back owned by the current Catalan team, Nelson Semedo. Messi said the game was rather disappointing. While Sergi Roberto did not contribute much to the team. Messi wants someone on the right as good as Jordi Alba and on the left it seems Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munchen is the preferred choice.

Meanwhile Barcelona need to sign a replacement for old Sergio Busquets. At the moment, no one is naturally a defensive midfielder at Barca, in Ernesto Valverde’s army, Arturo Vidal and Frenkie de Jong are considered less than optimal.

In the end, Leo asked the club to sign Kylian Mbappe, but the transfer seemed out of reach of Barca. Mbappe’s dream is to play for Real Madrid and he does not like the fact that Barca never ignored his signing in 2017. However, there are alternatives such as Mohammed Salah or Sancho who can be pursued by Barca as a replacement for Messi later.

Those are some of the players that Messi has required to keep playing in Barcelona.
